I'm actually going to buy it for my wife's old laptop later tonight. On a Mac, the $1.99 for Greenshot seems like a steal considering how much the built-in MacOS screenshot functionality sucks. Just to with any of the options above and save yourself a bunch of money and system resources! I had it on my work laptop for years in a previous job and hated it because it was just so overblown for what's needed 99% of the time. SnagIt is fine, but WAY more than what most people need or use, expensive, and has a huge footprint in comparison. The two snipping utilities in Windows 10 are good enough for probably 95% of people as well. I am debating whether to migrate totally over to it from FastStone 5.3 or just pay them the $20 for the lifetime license since I have used their free one for the past 15 years or more! Or, just keep using the free version because it still works great! The latest commercial version is FastStone 7.5 and is only $19.95 for lifetime.Ī great open source one that I recently discovered is Greenshot and it fills all of my needs as well. I still use the last free version of FastStone Capture 5.3 that fills all of my needs.
